Will it leak if tossed in my bag?

Not at all—the flip-top lid and silicone seal lock liquid in tightly.

Can I fill HYDAWAY bottles with carbonated (sparkling) water?

We have tested the HYDAWAY bottles with carbonated beverages like seltzer and soda and they work well. That said, be careful opening the flip-top spout if the carbonated liquid has been shaken and there is pressure built up. It can squirt out of the straw if the bottle is very full, similar to when you open a can of soda that has been shaken. By filling the bottle to only â…” full, you will minimize these effects.

Can I place my HYDAWAY bottle in the freezer?

Yes, because HYDAWAY bottles are made from silicone, which is a material rated for very low and very high temperatures. That said, water will expand when frozen, so we recommend you leave the lid off if you plan to place your filled HYDAWAY bottle into the freezer.

Can I fill HYDAWAY bottles with hot liquids?

The bottle's food-grade silicone body can easily handle very high (and low) temperatures. However, we do not recommend using the HYDAWAY bottles to hold very hot liquids. Since the product is designed to fold into a thin disc, the silicone walls are not thick enough in some areas to provide enough insulation for very hot liquids. Instead, we now offer collapsible insulated drink tumblers. With an insulating sleeve, they are made to hold your hot or cold beverages with ease.

Is it durable enough for outdoor use?

Totally—it’s designed with flexible yet tough silicone to handle travel, hiking, and everyday adventures.

Are these bottles microwave-safe?

No. The materials used in HYDAWAY are rated to very high temperatures, however we don't recommend that our products be placed in a microwave. That said, the bottles can be left in a hot car and still function appropriately. In fact, leaving a spare in the glove box is a great idea when you are on a road trip.

Are the bottles dishwasher-safe?

Yes! HYDAWAY bottles are designed to be easily cleaned in the dishwasher. In addition, the main opening is wide enough to fit a scrub brush inside if washing by hand.

Hi, my name is Niki and I founded HYDAWAY back in 2016 from my home town of Bend, Oregon. We launched our v1 collapsible water bottle on the Grommet that same year!


My goal when I started this company was to create a more refreshingly-simple way to stay hydrated while traveling and on-the-go, in an effort to combat the single-use plastic crisis. 


Now we offer a wide range of space-saving, eco-conscious products to help you with your travel and everyday adventures.
