FAQs
Will D'BakerAid fit on my counter?
Yes — D'BakerAid is roughly the footprint of a stand mixer (~13" × 11" × 14"). Smaller than a typical bread machine, a fraction of the size of a folding proofer. If you have room for a coffee maker plus a kettle, you have room for this. D'BakerAid runs on standard 110V US wall power and pulls less than a coffee maker. No special venting, no plumbing, no countertop heat issue. Designed specifically to live on a real kitchen counter.
I've never made sourdough. Is this for beginners?
Especially for beginners. The biggest reason new bakers fail is that their kitchen swings 4°C an hour and their starter doesn't behave consistently. D'BakerAid's Sourdough mode holds 27°C steady so the starter does what the recipe says it will do. Most first-time customers nail their first loaf.
Does it work for gluten-free or specialty doughs?
Yes — gluten-free, low-gluten, ancient-grain, and enriched doughs all benefit from temperature control. They typically need slightly longer cycles than standard yeast doughs; judge them visually, not just by the timer.
Is it loud?
No. The fans are whisper-quiet (under 35 dB at 1 metre — quieter than a refrigerator). You can have it running on the counter through dinner without anyone noticing.
Can I run it overnight?
Yes — Sourdough mode runs up to 24 hours by design and is safe for unattended overnight operation. The hub auto-locks the temperature, and there's a hard thermal cutoff if anything goes outside spec.
How long does setup take?
~10 minutes from box to first activation. Plug in, run the calibration cycle (one tap), pick a recipe, you're baking. Quick-start guide walks through your first loaf step-by-step.
Can I use my own recipes?
Yes — and that's the point. D'BakerAid runs the dough, not the recipe. Your great-grandmother's challah, your favorite cookbook's brioche, that pizza dough from the Italian YouTube channel — all work. Pick the matching program (Yeast / White / Mixed / Whole Grain / Sourdough) and the device handles the temperature.
How do I clean it?
The two bowls (D'Yeast 2.5L, D'Dough 4.5L) are dishwasher-safe top rack. The D'Steamer wipes clean with a damp cloth. The hub itself never touches dough — just wipe the touchscreen. ~2 minutes of cleanup per bake.

Our Story
The bread that humbled me
I grew up watching my dad, Henri, turn ordinary meals into something special in the kitchen. Cooking always felt natural to me, but bread was different—it humbled me again and again. During the COVID lockdown, I set out to understand why the same recipe could produce such different results and realized the key wasn’t just the recipe, but controlling the conditions behind fermentation and proofing.
As a product developer, I approached the challenge through research, testing, and process control. Working with food scientists, we studied everything from fermentation and dough development to temperature and humidity. After years of research, testing, and engineering, that work became D’BakerAid—a science-backed system designed to create precise, controlled conditions for dough to thrive.
