Vaseline: A Household Staple

Vaseline is usually the go-to for us in the winter to prevent our lips from chapping in the bitter cold. Although Vaseline is great for the dry lips, it is underrated for the other amazing beauty uses it can be used for. Some of the other superb uses for Vaseline include:

  • Eye Makeup Remover: Don’t waste your money on expensive eye makeup remover at the drug store. Just coat your lids in petroleum jelly and swipe it away with a tissue.
  • Seal split ends: When between trims, simply coat ends in Vaseline to conceal dryness and frizz. It is also great to tame flyaways.
  • Preserve your perfume fragrance: When we apply perfume in the morning we only wish the pleasing scent would last all day. Vaseline solves that problem; dab some on your pulse points (like your wrists and the sides of your neck) before spritzing yourself with perfume and your scent will last all day.
  • Uses around the home: Vaseline is great to keep screw-in light bulbs or bottle lids from sticking, to fix a squeaky hinge or to loosen a stiff bike chain. It can also be used to remove watermarks from wood, or lipstick stains from clothes and napkins or tablecloths.

Such an inexpensive item has so many uses, yet Vaseline remains such an under-appreciated hack.
